Last year we went winter camping at Mew Lake campground in Algonquin Provincial Park on the Family Day weekend. We didn't expect that it would be any different from any other winter weekend but we were wrong. Algonquin Park puts on "Winter in the Wild" on the Saturday of the Family Day weekend. It is a busy weekend with lots of activities from skating, to campfire stories, to winter camping demonstrations. We were very impressed and made sure to return this year on the same weekend.
This year I decided to talk to some of the campers there to find out why they camp in the winter, how they do it, and why they love it. I put together the following video.
It was great to meet and talk with some really cool and interesting people and I hope to see some of them again when we are out in the wild camping.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
